Sandy sat behind me in Junior High by alpha order. Always kind of had a little thing for her. Our 8th grade yearbook said our future was Lou Small still teasing Sandy Smith.
In the mid 2000's we had reconnected by email & renewed a old friendship and we kept in touch. She lived in Port Orange, FL.
In January 2006 she sent me a email that she was dying of lung cancer. When we got to Florida in Feburary I called and found out she had died!
This was one of my first closest friends to die and I was devastated by it. How could this happen? She was this pretty blond who sat behind me in Home Room. Losing your close friends your same age from your past cuts deep into your sole.
